What a Hangover IV actually is.

Most of our drips are vitamins and fluids. This one adds medication. Along with a full liter and B vitamins, your nurse gives ondansetron for nausea, ketorolac for headache and body aches, famotidine for stomach acid, and dexamethasone, a steroid, for inflammation. The same medications used in a hospital, given by a licensed nurse, in your own bed.

How IV hydration actually works.

Drink a glass of water and it goes to your stomach first, then your gut absorbs it over the next few hours. An IV skips that step. A full liter of sterile fluid goes straight into your bloodstream, along with the vitamins mixed into it.

It's the same way fluids are given in a hospital, and it's why a session takes about 45 minutes instead of a day of sipping.

A nurse places the line, stays for the whole session, and takes it out before leaving.

Kyle made booking quick and responsive. Lexus, my nurse, came right to my apartment and had the whole drip done in about 25 minutes.

  1. Called to get an IV for my sick son and they dispatched a nurse within 1.5 hours. When she got stuck in traffic, Kyle came himself.

  2. My husband was massively sick and dehydrated. Another company left us waiting three hours, then bailed. Instadrip came through.

What to expect.

  1. A woman on her sofa choosing a drip on her phone.
    1

    Book your drip.

Pick your drip and a time, online or by phone. Same day across most of LA, and a nurse can usually be at your door within the hour.

  2. A woman at her dining table on a telehealth call with a nurse practitioner.
    2

A quick chat with our medical provider.

Before your first session, you have a quick chat with a nurse practitioner or physician assistant to make sure it's safe for you to have the IV. A few minutes, and only on your first visit.

  3. A woman opening her front door to a nurse carrying a medical kit.
    3

    Your nurse arrives.

A licensed RN comes to your home, hotel, or office with everything for your drip, and places the line.

  4. Three friends walking and laughing together on a tree-lined street in morning light.
    4

    They stay for the session.

Most drips run about 45 minutes. Read, work, or nap while it runs. Your nurse takes the line out before they leave.

Questions.

Does it hurt?

One small pinch at the start, then nothing. Your nurse places IVs every day, and our reviews say it more than we do, one client called it the easiest placement she's had. After the line is in you can read, work, or sleep through the rest.

Who is actually coming to my house?

A licensed registered nurse, every time. Not a technician, not a contractor with a weekend certificate. Instadrip is a nursing corporation with a named California medical director, Dr. Fatima Hussein, license #C 175219. You can look it up. Most companies say "physician-overseen" and never tell you whose license it is.

Is it safe?

Every needle, line and bag is sterile, single-use, and opened in front of you. Before your first session you have a quick chat with a nurse practitioner or physician assistant to make sure the drip is safe for you. And if your nurse gets there and decides it isn't safe to treat you, they won't, even though we've already come out. That call is theirs to make.

Does this actually work, or am I paying $349 for saltwater?

For hydration and for correcting a deficiency you actually have, the evidence is good. Fluids and nutrients go straight into your bloodstream instead of partly surviving digestion. Past that, we stay careful about what we claim, which is why we publish the whole formula on every drip page. A full liter, full clinical doses, every ingredient named. Most companies won't show you that, because most companies are running a half bag.

Why not just drink water and take Advil?

If you're a little dehydrated and your stomach is fine, that works, and we'll tell you so. The IV is for when drinking isn't keeping up, or isn't staying down. A full liter in about 45 minutes instead of a day of sipping, and on the medication drips the anti-nausea and anti-inflammatory go straight in rather than through a stomach that's already unhappy.

What if I'm not really that sick?

Most of our clients aren't. They're run down, coming off travel, or they have something coming up they want to feel good for. You don't need a reason we'd approve of.

How long am I stuck at home?

About forty-five minutes from the nurse arriving to the line coming out, or about an hour for the Plus drips. NAD+ is the exception, two to four hours depending on the dose.

What's this actually going to cost me?

The price on the drip is the price. No travel fees anywhere we serve in LA. A $99 deposit holds your appointment and comes off your total, and $99 is the most you can ever lose, on any drip up to $1,200.

What if I need to cancel?

Move it or cancel more than 12 hours ahead and there's no charge at all, deposit back in full. Inside 12 hours we keep the $99. That's the whole policy.

Will I bruise?

Sometimes, and it's normal. A little tenderness or a small bruise where the line sat, usually gone in a day or two. Tell your nurse if the site stays warm, swollen or painful.

What does a Hangover IV actually do?

It treats the symptoms. Ondansetron for the nausea, ketorolac for the headache and body aches, famotidine for the stomach acid, and a full liter of fluids to rehydrate you. Real medications with real uses, given by a licensed nurse in your own bed.

There's a steroid in this?

Yes, dexamethasone. It's a single dose given through the line for inflammation, the same way an ER would use it. Tell your nurse if you're diabetic, fighting an infection, or already taking steroids, since those change what's safe. We list it because you should know what's going in.

I feel too rough to have someone come over.

That's most of our hangover calls. You don't have to clean up, get dressed, or make conversation. Your nurse places the line and lets you lie there.

Can I get one if I've been drinking recently?

Tell your nurse honestly how much and how recently. It's part of the intake and it changes what's safe. We'd rather move your appointment than treat you when we shouldn't.
